Simulations of God, John Lilly
Breaking Open the Head, Daniel Pinchbeck
Tree of Life, Israel Regardie
Magick Without Tears, Aleister Crowley
Beelzebub's Tales to His Grandson, G. Gurdjieff
Journey to Ixtlan, Carlos Castaneda

This is a good list to start with. They're not in any particular order. The bottom two, Gurdjieff and Castaneda, can be said to be fiction, though they are allegories, which sometimes can hold the greater truth.

right on. thanks!
I thought also of David Icke's Children of the Matrix but decided it wasn't an essential read. And it's non fiction, but I find it more palpable if it were.

I like that Icke book, though it is one of his more sensational ones. The Truth Will Set You Free is another good one by him.

~Women who Run With the Wolves - Clarissa Pinkola Estes
~Making the gods work for you ~ Caroline W. Casey
~The Book of Thoth ~ The Master Therion (Aleister Crowley)
~Hawaiian Magic and Spirituality ~ Scott Cunningham
~The Teachings of Don Carlos ~ Victor Sanchez (familiarizing with Carlos Castaneda's works first is helpful in getting the most out of this book, but I don't think that is a MUST...)

These are just a few that jump to mind (my mind that is)... No doubt I can think of many MORE, but these are definitely all non-fiction {though Clarissa Pinkola Estes frequently uses (fairy)tales to illustrate the undercurrent of deep spiritality and spiritual knowledge IN such tales}; and they will AT LEAST provide reading for 100 days... :)

If you like Hawaiian magic (Huna), you should really check out the books by Max Freedom Long. By far the finest writer on the subject, and he had actual first hand experience with some of the real Kahunas, since his books were written 70-80 years ago or so.
