What will Winter Solstice bring in 2012? ...an instant of Karma? ...an ethereal spiral dance of the collective soul? ... cosmic judgment leveled against civilization's expanse? ...destruction of the world as we know it? ...a chance for a new start? ...the rise and the revenge of the Goddess? or simply another day in the life of paranoia? These are the false prophesies that your pastor warned you about!

Crazy Bear said there'd be days like this. As usual, no one believed him. Now, all I want to know is: where IS that lifeboat, and how DO I ditch this ship of fools, without any of these bliss ninnies noticing that I'm already gone?
Captain, my ass. We are equal in this sea of madness.
That iceberg is looking awfully big.

Amana Mission is on a quest to save the world, and the only problem is, she can't remember why she got involved with such an obvious scam in the first place. Jesus saves. Christ. What a loser.

Subject:Belief, Faith, and Knowing of God's Presence
Time:09:00 pm
Words are symbols, the meanings to which develop in each mind independently, varying as the result of brain structure and response to external circumstance.

Words which point to that which is not concrete, like "belief" and "faith", have to find their meaning by crossing the river of analogy at least twice. At that point "Webster" is of limited help: there must be hundreds of "Websters", inasmuch as the original Daniel Webster is no longer around to defend his trademark. That situation itself has its analogies in religious circumstance: neither Jesus nor St. Paul is around to fire the innumerable competing teams of lawyers claiming to represent them.

BELIEF: where I live, the word "belief" symbolizes a hypothesis which has not yet found the evidence which would either confirm it or refute it. It's rather in the same realm as opinion. It concerns stuff about which well-informed rational people could disagree. In Christianity, creeds are built around the stuff that requires human threats to enforce, because the universe does not testify on its behalf. The world of the Psalmist and the world of the Council of Nicea are two different and irreconcilable worlds. Jesus claimed the first world and never heard of the second one. St. Paul claimed the Greek world of philosophical mysteries, and would have been shocked to find out what he inadvertently gave rise to-- a Roman political party that kept imperialism in place for most of two millenia.

FAITH: where I live, faith is action in the face of uncertainty. It is the response to the vision. The wealthy are usually not very good at it, because they have arranged their lives about creating security prior to the confrontation with the undertaker. The poor lack that arrangement and have no choice but to live by faith. That in a nutshell is the reason for the early success of Pauline and Nazorean Christianity among the poor of the Greek world, and of Shin Buddhism in Japan. .......This very email is an act of faith. Nobody in their right mind would waste time on the proposition that the relief of someone else's suffering might be more important than the relief of my own, or that having come face to face with the terror and beauty and love of Reality myself, anyone else would want to live there.

KNOWING OF GOD'S PRESENCE: People know in different ways. Here's how I have known as far back as I can remember. ......As a toddler I was taught in some combination of Sunday School and at home, the following principles:

1. God created the world as good.

2. It's our job to keep it good, and not make it bad.

3. God sent his son Jesus into the world to teach us how to do this.

I don't remember the actual teaching, who said what: it happened at too young an age. What I remember is what I knew, and it has never failed me. No argument or convincing was ever necessary, because the whole thing was obvious on the face of, confirmed in everyday life. My understanding of the details is more sophisticated nowadays than it was when I was a toddler, but the underlying insight was the same then as now over 50 years later. It is in plain view, it is what I live, and there is nothing to believe in. Many have denied it and still do, but nobody has ever offered to refute it other than by arguing over the form the symbols took. Which of course is no refutation at all. Those three principles are things that Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and even atheists can agree on, once you account for the variations in the way the symbols are understood.

"In which we live and move and have our being": nothing left to believe in, only something to swim in.

"The deepest form of enslavement in our lives is to unconscious forces that govern our behaviour despite our conscious efforts. On the other side of the coin, we are also enslaved by our inability to transcend conscious perception so we may access the wisdom of other realms of information. Either way, we lack the freedom to access the invisible forces that can help us know ourselves and lead us to our destiny. Without this freedom, all of our other efforts at educational, moral, and spiritual development remain superficial."
Don Trent Jacobs, Primal Awareness: A True Story of Survival, Transformation, and Awakening with the Raramuri Shamans of Mexico

Ain't that the truth. I know I'm enslaved by similar forces. The hard part is finding a catalyst that will trigger an escape from this type of bondage. From reading these changes always appear to accompany a tragedy or other life altering event. Does it have to be like this? Can one leverage a true drastic change of their very way of perceiving reality through mere intent, when coming from said enslaved position and being essentially cut off from the true Will? I'm trying to figure that out.

Subject:The Pharmacratic Inquisition
Time:01:00 am
I just finished watching this video The Pharmacratic Inquisition made by Jan Irvin and Andrew Rutajit, authors of the book, The Aquarius Initiation: Astrotheology & Shamanism - Revealing the Law of Duality in Christianity and Other Religions, and I have to say that it was well worth the three and half hours. The movie consists of two fellows standing beside a projection screen talking while they present visual aides. It covers a lot of topics, from the origins of Christianity, to the idea that psychoactive substances were the basis of modern religions, and other diverse topics relating to the history of religion. Some of the authors cited are: Acharya S., R. Gordon Wasson, Terrence McKenna, James Arthur, John Allegro, among many others. It may be rehashed info for the more well versed, but they put it together smoothly and creatively all in one package, and the best part it's open source and free.

Get the Video HERE.

Below are some thumbnails from the film.

"What is profit anyway? What is the greed that is motivating a frenzied humanity to destroy the planet and degrade itself? If a media mogul pockets so many hundreds of millions of dollars a year while leaving his children and grandchildren a world without clean air, Amazon jungles, the purple splendor of coral reefs, or animals, where is his profit? If a chemical corporation profits by spreading toxins across the globe the will rematerialize as cancer in the flesh of their own anxious stockholders, where is the profit? To what Martian retreat or Lunar Club Med do these madmen - ourselves! - see themselves retreating when they have finished fucking this planet like an old whore?...

We deny our intuition, because we don't believe in spirits or listen to our dreams, because we have banished our potential shamans to mental institutions and homeless shelters, because we have imprisoned ourselves within virtual shells of technology, it may be pathetically easy for ambiguous, supersensible entities - demons or devas, Archons or rakshasas - to continually operate on our minds, filling the vacuum we have created with sludge, anesthetizing us to deeper levels of wisdom.

If that is the case, then we, the privileged inheritors of an increasingly insecure and globally destructive empire, can be seen as suffering from demonic possession on a vast scale. The parasites manipulating us hide within our egocentric materialism and spiritual nihilism. They laugh at us in our dreams. Their will is enacted by multinational corporations that can be seen, shamanically, as ambiguous sentient entities that prefer to act outside of human control, in occult ecologies of information and high-speed financial markets. Like all Archons, these corporations, often branded by mythological symbols, increase their own power by compelling human belief and sacrifice to their greatness. Their aim seems to be the transformation of the earth into a non-human wasteland.

Where will we find shamans powerful enough to suck the spiritual poison from our social body and vomit it out for us? Wizards who can tame these demons? Visionaries who can point the way forward? There is only one place. Unlikely as it seems, we have to become our own shamans, wizards and seers. As spiritual warriors, we must take responsibility for the plight of our species. To break the spell of our culture's death-trap deceptions and hypnotic distractions, we need the courage to confront what lies behind the open doors of our own minds."
- Daniel Pinchbeck, Breaking Open the Head

"Fucking the planet like an old whore". What a fitting sentiment. The strong language totally describes the severity of the situation. I sometimes feel like I'm the crazy one for being able to project the results of our activities even a decade or two and being alarmed. It feels good to see someone else explain it so eloquently.

The concept of our culture being possessed on a mass scale by demons/archons, is a paradigm I think we could work with. Most people have the ingrained knowledge of these concepts, from fairy tales and what not, that it could have a real effect. It is either this or really hurry up with a scientific/technological model that functions. The only problem with something like that is that type of knowledge seems to take a long time to trickle down to the 'common man'. Maybe it's a mistake to look to the past for this affliction, maybe this is beyond the realm of what humanity has dealt with in the past, or if various prophecies/oral traditions are correct, maybe it isn't. Maybe this is one of many human ages, and we are failing the same test we've failed in the past.

Either way, I really enjoyed this book, even if it didn't go into great depth on any particular subject, it was an excellent attempt to touch base with almost all of the great thinkers in the fields of shamanism and entheogens. From McKenna to Schultes, Wasson to Grof, DeKorne to Leary, Siebert to Strassman, Crowley to Lilly, Burroughs to Castaneda, Gurdjieff to Jung, Ott to Shulgin, Vallee to Watts, and this list is anything but exhaustive. If I had to recommend the first book someone should read on this subject, this would be it. Check him out @ http://www.breakingopenthehead.com

Monkey apes temple rituals

A monkey attended a temple in Orissa, India and folded his hands and prayed for an hour before taking prasad and placing vermillion on its forehead.  This is something I would have liked to have seen, and had I, would have also taken it as a miracle as these people did.

Yesterday I went for a stroll into the forest preserve that is next door to my residence. The scent of the woods after/during a rain is invigorating. An earthy, green, humus smell. Mmmm. The odors of growth and decay intermingled. The sound of the toads calling for an amplexus partner. I walked path a deer within 20 yards with nary a step on their part, just silent witness of my passing. The mushrooms are magickally appearing from their mycelial slumber under the blanket of dead leaves. I like to walk to a certain stand of pines that had been planted over fifty years ago, in nice tight rows, all standing in attention. The light is more subdued in this spot than any other place in the forest, with individual rays of sol cutting through to the cushion of needles on the forest floor. It feels like a cathedral more than anything else to stand amid those silent sentinels, absorbing the sanctity of being a participant in such an experience. On this same bed of needles can be found a particular spot where there are quite a few bones littered in small area. Mostly rodents I surmise, although they run the gamut from rabbit to vole sized. There are also the telltale splatters of scat and urea on and around these trees to have led me to conclude recently that this inviolable grove is the flapping grounds to a pair of Great Horned Owls. I've seen them on a few occasions, getting them to show themselves through different noises and distractions. Yesterday they didn't appear to be home in the grove, but I tried my rudimentary mimicry of their call and for the first time received an instant response from not too far away. I repeated the call twice more and was answered both times in kind. It wasn't what most would consider a particularly significant life event, but for me, someone not born and bred in the wilds, it was another manifestation of what I consider to be magick.
